2019 Honda Insight Named Top Safety Pick+ by IIHS

Safety is a top value at Honda, which is why we are proud to announce that the 2019 Honda Insight was named a Top Safety Pick + by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)*. This rating is the highest possible that a vehicle can earn from the IIHS. To receive this recognition, the 2019 Honda Insight earned "good" ratings in all of the crashworthiness tests, a "good" rating for the vehicle's LED headlights, and a "superior" rating for the Collision Mitigation Braking System driver assist safety feature.

"Insight continues to prove that it's much more than just a pretty face with great fuel-efficiency ratings," said Ray Mikiciuk, assistant vice president of Honda Automobile Sales. "With standard Honda Sensing activity safety tech and a Top Safety Pick + rating, Insight is a hybrid with some serious safety chops," he continued in the Honda News press release.

The  award is given to vehicles that earn "good" ratings on their drive side overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints tests. Vehicles must also earn an "acceptable" or "good" rating in the passenger-side small overlap test, and an "advanced" or "superior" rating in the available front crash prevention system and available good-rated headlights evaluations.

The 2019 Honda Insight is among the top of its class when it comes to safety ratings. In addition to its Top Safety Pick  + rating, the Insight also expects to earn a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the New Car Assessment Program.**
